Ayla

If you are reading my about me section I am guessing you want to know who I am, why being a Sacramento Photographer is my passion, why photograph people and how I work with our guests. I am sure that you do not want to hear the dry boring details about how I became a photographer. Or maybe you do. So let me start with the boring stuff and get it out of the way, then I can tell you the fun stuff in conclusion.

I started off my photography career as a photographer for the Lifetouch company. My mother worked for them and I followed in her footsteps. In the studio I built on my abilities as an infant and senior photographer. Both age groups are amazing to work with, capturing the tiny fingers and toes, to capturing images of what someone so small has become by the time they graduate from high school.

Since then I have received a certificate in photography from the Defense Information School at Fort George G. Meade, MD. The training I have received from them has improved not only my eye but my ability to use lighting and capture a moment outside of the studio.

Okay, now for the good stuff. One of the first things I tell all my guests is that I am crazy. I don’t mean like, need to be on meds crazy. I mean that during your session with this Sacramento Photographer there will be at least one time where I have you do something so weird that in your head you will say something along the lines of, “What in the world is this crazy lady having me do?” BUT if you trust me and trust our team then that crazy photo you didn’t think will turn out, will probably be one of your favorites. Besides would you like to work with a boring photographer who doesn’t use little things you do to out of habit to build on for posing and capture your personality?

Why people? Because we are all so different, I could photograph 5 little boys and not a single sitting would be the same. Each child acts different, each mother is looking for different images. I can us the interaction in the family to create these images that not only show who that child is, but years down the line remind mom that jimmy did this cute little pout.

How I work with our guests. Yes I said guests, not clients. I could even say friends because we work that closely with our guests. We ask for children’s birthdays, not just so we can remind you to come see us again but so we can send you that hand written card with a little memory in it. We keep your wedding date on file to do the same thing. When we get a call from you a few months after your session, our first question will not be about your next session. Rather we will be asking how you are, and if Timmy has taken his first steps yet. We want to get to know you, and get to know your family. I want you to know me as a friend, not just as “that photographer”.

Photography has become one of the biggest parts of me, it inspires me and makes me think of ways to capture what I see in a different way. I enjoy working with people to create an experience to go along with the images that will last a lifetime. I am truly blessed to be a Sacramento Photographer.
